Hi Endymon,

Sorry to hear that the game has crashed for you recently, multiple times no less. Currently our whole team currently fully heads down on our new project as we're approaching a major milestone but we definitely want to look into this for you.

Can you confirm for me whether these crashes are a recently occurrence? Under what circumstances are they occurring, is it a particular level that seems to be affected? If possible can you include any saves from this level for us.You can find instructions here: How to: Submit a Bug Ticket

Can you also include a DXDiag output for your PC? How To: Generate a DXDiag Report.

Hope we can help,

Lee

Hi PKCrafty,

Sorry to hear you're suffering from an issue with WFTO and thanks for supplying your specs and output log.

To best help you I wonder if I could ask you to provide specs and a log from your other PC if it is suffering from the same issue and could you also confirm the following:

  • What campaigns you're subscribed to on the workshop
  • All other items you're subscribed to
  • If you leave the game for a short while after clicking custom campaign does this issue still occur (may be loading but windows kills it because it thinks its not responding)
  • Do you have any of your own custom maps?

I've had a look at the output log you provided and it seems to indicate there is a duplicate map present and at that point, it seems to just end. It'd be very odd for you to have two instances of a unique map installed and this may very well be the cause.

Perhaps after providing us the details above you can try identifying the offending map "mapinfo.heroes_of_the_past.76561198284790003" and unsubscribing from it, possibly followed by removing any remaining files from your workshop downloads folder.

Once you get back to us we'll follow up when we can. I will be away for the next few weeks but I've asked my colleague to keep an eye on these tickets.

Hope we can get you running again,

Lee

Marking as complete as this has been on Pending Customer for some time now.

Please let us know if you need further assistance.

Thanks Martin, that should go a long way to helping us identify the issue when we do our pass.

Hi Martin,

Thanks for the clarifications, that's truly surprising. I'm going to drop this into our Triage queue for us to investigate further in the coming months. At the moment the majority of our team is working on our new projects but we are planning to continue releasing support updates for WFTO. Hopefully, we'll be able to set aside some time to investigate this issue further with the code team when we return to WFTO for our upcoming triage pass.

I'm sorry I can't do more to assist you today. To help us in our investigations I wonder if you'd be able to drop us the output_log from an affected session and confirm your system specifications. As detailed in: How to: Submit a Bug Ticket.

Please note that the output log is overwritten on each startup so if you've started the game since you last played Crucible and subsequently were not awarded the achievement correctly then the log is unlikely to contain anything related to the issue.

Cheers,

Lee

I'll reopen this ticket and assign it to our Triage queue to determine whether we will be able to investigate further. (Since our last response we've moved over most of our team to our new project and WFTO is now officially in maintenance mode, we still plan to release support patches but only as time permits)

Cheers,

Lee

Hi Martin,

Sometimes these achievements will display as not unlocked on summary screens when they are actually unlocked. After restarting the game can you confirm whether they display as unlocked or not in GOG Galaxy or the Achievements menu? (Or you have the associated worker skin)

Cheers,

Lee

Hi NovusCrimson,

Thanks for the report. This is a very interesting edge case related to the unit varients, probably due to an oversight in the Beastmaster's AI. I'll drop it into our triage queue for us to review when we next come around to doing a patch. I can't confirm at this time whether or not the issue will be fixable.

Cheers,

Lee
