Discussed via Discord. This is not a repeat of the previous issue where a high scaled UI could cause the element to drop off the screen edge.

Best of luck, really hope you can get to play it sometime soon :) If you ever have any problems when that day comes do get in touch!

That's not too surprising as on a base level WoW and the engine that it runs on was constructed over a decade ago. Although WoW does support many of the modern technologies because the engine receives regular updates a lot of the old renderers are still in place for less robust cards. This means the scaling for WoW is huge, especially as they have teams of dozens of engineers responsible for the maintenance of that engine. Their engineering team likely dwarfs our entire development team. :)

WFTO however is only a few years old so we used modern renderers all throughout the process of creating it. We don't have support for the really old stuff like Shader Model 2.0 simply because Unity doesn't support it anymore.

Hi Peterdaman,

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

Unfortunately I'm not sure there's going to be very much we can help with here, I've taken a look through your system specs and unfortunately your system is falling well below the minimum required specs (System Requirements), most importantly the graphics renderer.

The Screenshot you provided shows some severe graphics artifacting, walls are not rendered the menu is completely skewed and a white box has been rendered in the place of another element. This is consistent with what you'd expect to see when that renderer does not support the full range of features required to render these elements. That's not uncommon with Intel integrated cards and is one of the reasons we don't explicitly support them.

Your graphics card (Intel GMA 3100) doesn't support the modern rendering technologies required to display the game's graphics, you'll see from the link before although a lot of details are missing that it only supports up to DX9 is recommended, Shader Model 2.0 and OpenGL 1.4 while our minimum spec card (Nvidia GTX460) has support for up to DX12, Shader Model 5.0 and Open GL 4.5. I suspect because of this you'll be unable to get the game to properly render.

All I can suggest trying is looking for the most up to date Intel GMA 3100 drivers, installing these might add a few more features and get the game rendering, but it's very unlikely I'm afraid. Beyond that at the very minimum you would need to purchase a discrete graphics card but then you may find other older hardware in your system could hold you back.

I'm truly sorry I can't help you further in this matter, best of luck and remember if you're unable to get the game running you can request a refund via Steam customer support!

Cheers,

Lee

I'm seeing the exact same error message that would appear to indicate your graphics card is not initializing. I'll ask Stefan to pop by when he's got a moment (We're current in crunch time to get the next patch ready for release) see if he has any advice.

Hi Peterdaman,

Sorry to hear about the issues you're having with launching the game. Please can you provide an output of your DXDiag?

To do so open type DXDiag into your Search/Cortana bar on the taskbar. Launch the DXDIag program that should be the top result. Once it has fully loaded click "Save all information" Save the file somewhere as Peterdaman-Dxdiag and then upload it to us.

Will do my best to identify what is happening, I've never seen anything quite like this to be honest.

Cheers,

Lee
