I tried disabling my first GPU, but then my computer display failed and I had to restart it, re-adjust my resolution, then try playing the game.  It didn't even load.  So then (after enabling GPU 1 and restarting again) I disabled my second GPU as requested and tried it.  It didn't work.  I don't know if there is an introductory cinematic for the Main Campaign, but for the Heart of Gold Campaign with the button in the bottom-right it still didn't work.
What happened is Steam asked me about my conflicting files so I chose to upload them to the cloud.  Now they appear!  😀
It worked!  Thank you.

I don't know how to do that.

I have a very similar issue actually - a long dead "ghost" unit that remains despite should have been rotted away.

She died there once and I had to quit and when I reloaded the game, she was standing there upright.  You can see there is no outline on her.  I cannot slap her, I cannot pick her up, my workers cannot interact with her.  She is just...there.  It seems to be a lingering graphical error, this "ghost" glitch.  Here is my Home Realm data by the way:

Also, unrelated, but sometimes I notice that dwarf Sapper units get stuck in my prisons and I cannot use the Blood Money spell on them or torture them or do anything except move them out of prison and let them get killed and rot away.  Is this intentional?

I have a similar issue.  Call it Local Save File Recovery Backup

I wanted to Reset Campaign Progress for the Stay a While and Listen achievement, but before I clicked the button I decided to temporarily relocate my savefile folder until I reached my current point in the campaign again.  I didn't want those save files deleted despite the game telling me that they would be.  I'm stubborn like that.  I scrapped my Home Realm save data so it wouldn't conflict in any way despite already having spent 5 hours in it.  lol

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\RAND_NUM\230190\remote

I cut the entire folder from there to my Documents library.  Replaying the game to said mission, I moved the folder back and merged it with the current remote folder although the only conflicting file was WFTO_Tutorial

None of my save files can be loaded in-game.  Not a one.  Not even those from other game modes.  Yes, there was manual interference.  No, I do not have any of my _edit save file extensions in this folder.  I didn't see any.  Either way since this is a similar issue I'm posting in this thread instead of making my own so here you go - other essential files as listed previously.  Plus a zipped folder of the save files I cannot load in case you want them:

  • The game just won't play the cutscene for Heart of Gold.  It may have to do with me having two GPUs, but I'm unsure.
