Sorry for asking but am i using the latest version on PS5?

I seriously dont know when the last update hit the console and there is sadly no update history for PS5 games, i found no way to check this myself either :/
I know that console patches are often way behind Steam, so i'm just wondering if i use the latest version or if i should wait a bit longer.

My game just soft locked on me again. This would be the third time I’d have to reset everything to attempt to play this game on PS5. We’ve all been patient with you guys on getting stuff corrected, but we really need a fix. It’s beyond frustrating to have to replay the game multiple times to get locked out again. Please fix this or consider giving refunds. I felt bad after the first time with all the issues and purchased the add on pack to support you guys. It seems like we haven’t gotten an update in forever for console and it feels like we are getting neglected.

I tried to log onto my game to get you an answer, but I got soft locked out of my game. I believe the version you are on is the most current, which came out a few weeks ago. They didn’t fix the soft lock bug I guess.

I deleted my save when the problem occured the first time and replayed the first 2 chapters without any problems but then i decided to wait until the problem is officially fixed.
A friend of mine played the game as well on PS5, while i was loosing progress and got stuck on the loading screen later on. She never had any of those issues but stopped playing because i told her to wait for a patch, just to be sure and save her from frustration.
So i wonder myself why this happens to some players, even multiple times and others seem to be unaffected. The only difference between her PS5 and mine is that she bought it a short while ago and mine is already 3 years old.
I will keep my fingers crossed for the upcoming patch!

I wonder if it has to do with how we close out the game? Usually I save and go to the main screen before shutting closing the program from the task bar or switcher. I made a habit of this, but I’m wondering if maybe I saved, didn’t go to the main menu, and just turned off my PS5. I wonder if that registers as an incomplete save and is corrupting it. I don’t understand the issues and I know they are working on it, but I can only replay the game so many times before I start to go insane haha the dialogue is good, but repetitive. I’d just like to beat the game haha

i started to think about this after your question.
I can remember that i used the normal save a lot in the beginning, realy a lot because there is no clear visible indicator (for me) when the save is done, maybe i saved even to often because of this or in too short intervalls, just to be sure. I tend to do that especially before i redesign layouts after buying more space, just in case it does not work out well. Most of the time i used this one to save and close the game also.
Later on i got used to the other option "Save and return to Menu" (i dont know the exact wording in english) because i started to loose progress and thought i might corrupt the gamefile myself because of a bad save and close behaviour. But it made no difference at this stage for me, i lost progress in different levels no matter which option i used to save, i tried around a lot with saving/closing/restarting to figure out what may cause this problem, just to prevent it. At this time i often switched between chapters and did some research for new diseases in older chapters in sandbox mode.
Then there was a patch and i was able to load the game normaly, i wanted to take a quick look trough my levels just to see if they load well and how far the progress is. I may have saved the game once to let the patch do it's magic because someone mentioned something about the size of the savefiles beeing to big or anything like that and closed the game. The next time when i started the game, some days later, i had that infinite loading screen.
I use the "Save and return to Menu" now always, when i want to close the game.
They just said the newest patch should solve this. Try downloading it to see if it will solve the issue. I haven’t gotten to play the new patch yet.
