Startup crash

Game crashed during tutorial mission, now crashes on starting the game at 'Player Profile'. Not fixed by reboot/deletion of profile in appdata/reinstall.

CS Edit: Link to the video of the problem. Player says that updating to the newest version of the game and integrating files on Steam does not help with the problem.

Hey Laird!

I am sorry to hear you are experiencing game crashes, that definitely should not happen! I will forward it to our developers for investigation but I need crash logs so our team have better insight what exactly went wrong.

Apologies for the delay, work etc..

Looks like I don't have a CrashDump file for the Galacticare exe, though the UnityCrashHandler64 exe shows in task manager whilst the game is stuck.

Confirmed same result in 1.0.3, though I haven't tried a full reinstall since the previous version.

Also, have you tried checking the integrity of the files through the Steam option?

Hi Dominik,

I actually facepalmed when I realised I hadn't done an integrity check; just jumped straight to a reinstall. Unfortunately it reported all files fine and didn't update/download anything.

Nothing in the vid changes after 15 seconds, at that point the mouse cursor still freely moves outside of the game window, and I can alt-tab to task manager to close it. Even if left longer nothing changes and the game just hangs as shown.

Edit: Just noticed and apologise for the profanity in the games list. I forgot that was there, sorry!

Hey Laird! I just got news from our team that in the game's upcoming release, a similar situation should not happen at all and the game will continue to load normally. 

We are also planning on adding a feature that will allow you to skip story chapters and let you resume the campaign from any point in the game. 

Unfortunately, it is not possible to recover the corrupted save file at this time.
