Minion happiness bug.

    • Latest patch as of now, 2.1, don't knowthe build exactly, it takes ages to boot up the game so i can't run it right now to check, sorry, i'll update the info later if you need me to.

I encontered a bug where the minions are unhappy and some are even angry, but when i sort them by happiness and pick up that unhappy minion, hovering the mouse over them in the info, it says they're happy or content and they have their needs in the green. Yet they're still sorted as unhappy and the announcer constantly spams "some of your minions are unhappy" message, as well as individual minions (they come up as unhappy in the events part of the UI, to the right, where the messages go).

I also found that, Beastmasters work for about 15-20 seconds before their tavern neeed completely depletes and then again i get the "a beastmaster is unhappy" message.

This is on the last MPD map, but this is not the first time i encountered the constant "unhappy" spam. It's like, the longer i play the map, the more unmanageable everything becomes, and it's not like i have a bad layout, it's MPD, no attacks, nothing, moongates everywhere (it takes each minion about 10 seconds to get anywhere), so they're not unhappy because they have to walk long routes.

Also, each time a minion lost a battle in the arena, they came out with 0% sleep and again, the announcer says "your [minion] is unhappy because it is tired". I don't know if this is a bug or not, but i find it unnecessary for me to know that, and a lot of the unhappy announcer messages are redundant Like when a minion is unhappy for 2 seconds before meeting their needs, the announcer says minioon is unhappy, i zoom to that minion, and they're at the tavern, just eaten and happy again. This is not relevant information that needs my attention. Make a timeout on the messages or something, make the announcer maybe only warn about unhappy minions if they cannot satisfy their needs or are unhappy for a minute.

The constant "unhappy" spam makes the game not enjoyable. The bug makes them unhappy even though they appear happy by looking at them. And their needs drop at a ridiculous pace where it becomes impossible for them to satisfy their needs even if they have at max 10 seconds to get to anywhere they need.

I can't post a screenshot because i don't know how i'd frame this. I can't make a picture where i pick up a minion, drop it, and then hover the mouse over it so you know that this is the minion that was unhappy. By that logic i could have screenshoted any minion and told you it's a bug. So i don't know how to do that via screenshot. I sadly can't make a video as my video card and hard disk are too slow for that.

Please, if there's anything that can be done about this, or even if you just reduce the rate at which their needs drop, it's maddening listening to the announcer constantly spam unhappy messages when there's nothing i can do to stop it.

I'm attaching the output log as requested and please tell me if there's any other info you need.

Hi Vepar,

Thanks for reporting this. I'll pass it over to our QA Analyst to have a look into once he's got a spare moment. Just wanted to let you know we'll definitely be taking a look!

Cheers,

Thank you!

The rest of the game is great, and as far as i can tell, everything else seems to be working fine, but this unhappy thing is really annoying. It seems to get worse the longer i play a map and i have no idea why that is.

Also, some minions seem to be more affected by this than others. Necromancers and Beastmasters seem the most unhappy. Also, on that MPD map, golden golems were constantly unhappy too, but that might have been my fault, i'm not sure. They ended up thrown in the portal so that got sorted out quickly lol... :P

I should also tell you that, i have abysmall read/write speed on my hard disk so it takes the game ages to load, to become responsive and it stutters every time some disk writing is happening. I submitted a ticket about this so you can check that out, i assume you have access to it if you want to take a look. I'm telling this in case this is somehow related so you have more info to go on. I'm working on buyng an SSD, but in the meantime, i can't be sure that my slow disk isn't somehow causing this. Well, the more info you have, the better chances for you to find what's wrong i guess. :)

Good luck and tell me if you need anything else!

I believe this could be related to the bug I raised about minions needs not been met as I am constantly hearing minions are blah blah blah  and I also have moongate scattered around.
