Consultants not unlocking

I've played up to Level 5 and only 1 consultant is consistantly unlocking - the Tenki guy.

Twiggy pop isn't unlocking and is not available to bring into the game in later levels despite her planet being at 5 stars and the story complete. Same with the Vizyr(?) one in the big vegetable level. The galaxy was also not carrying over the loamite unlocked objects from level to level, and until I turned off steam cloud saves, wasn't actually saving my prior game progress.

I have the latest DLC, but only just got the game.

Thanks so much for bringing this to our attention! Are you able to send a screenshot or video of some of the issues so I can send this over to the team? Additionally, it would be helpful if you could generate a debug file so the team can pinpoint the issue quicker! Info below: 

Debug files provide critical information that may help us identify and fix issues that you report to us. In most cases we will ask you to provide these key files

These files contain:

  • A Save Game made at the moment the command is inputted
  • Your 3 most recent autosaves
  • Your progression data (The Player Profile)
  • A log file containing outputs from the game's debug tools
  • A screenshot taken of the state of the game when the input is given

All data is anonymised.

Step by Step

While the game is running, and as recent to the issue as possible (ideally with it currently ongoing)

  1. Pause the Game
  2. Input Ctrl + Shift + F7, this will generate your debug files
  3. Locate your Debug .zip Files, these will be located at:
    1. C:\Users\{User Name}\AppData\LocalLow\Brightrock Games\Galacticare
    2. Your debug files will be in zip file named "Galacticare Debug Save" plus the time and date the files were generated

Please note that generating these files can take up to a minute depending on your machine's hardware.

Hi, I actually tried turning steam cloud saves off and resetting the story - and it looks like it still hasn't worked. The attached screenshots are from the game after resetting the story - old level unlocks are still there, and I recompleted the first two levels - you can see both levels are now rated as 5 star completion, but going into Chapter 3, Twiggy is still not unlocked.

No idea what's going on here, but it's a fresh install bought over the weekend and I'm basically facing an unplayable game. :(

This has not been fixed. I've opened the same game I previously submitted. Opened the first two hospitals, then opened the third and Consultant Twiggy Pop is still not available to engage.

Sorry to hear you're still having this issue. While fixes have been deployed for potential causes of the issue and other protections put in place there's no way to confirm whether the exact cause has been identified in your case.

I understand this is frustrating and can only apologise for that.

Can I confirm the following:

  1. You have started the levels in question from scratch to confirm whether the unlocks are occuring correctly, your reply indicates you resumed the levels, which may not lead to a successful unlock if you have already progressed beyond the point there character is meant to unlock.
  2. I think It should be enough to simply progress up to the point where you can introduce Twiggy into the level in Level 2 and then launch level 1 in sandbox to check whether she's available.

If you can confirm the above and the problem is still presented then I'd like to check a few more things.

  1. You have verified your files on Steam
  2. Whether you are using cloud storage syncing software such as onedrive or google drive or other syncing tools that keeps your data in sync with the cloud. We have had cases where users saves are overwritten by earlier versions from these services.
  3. Whether you are using any antivirus software and if there are any reports generated by that software that would indicate any processes blocked from writing correctly

If you've verified your files and confirmed 2 and 3 are not the case then all we can do is go ahead and try and get a more comprehensive demonstration of the problem.

  1. Start Level 2 of the Campaign in story mode and progress up to the point of unlocking Twiggy Pop. Create a debug save here.
  2. Play Level 2 through to completion, before leaving the level create a debug save.
  3. Start Level 3, confirm whether Twiggy Pop is correctly available and make a debug save.

Please submit all these saves to us. Hopefully at some point in all of those saves we can spot something which would indicate what might have gone wrong.

If you can do all of this in one session that'd be the best. I apologise as I know that's a lot of groundwork but we genuinely cannot replicate your issue, which means at this time we have no idea what the cause could be.
