Hey Alexandra,

I'm honestly really confused about how this is happening, let's see if we can work it out.

Can you please send us your log: Posting Output Logs

Can you also try to disable any firewall or antivirus to see if they are affecting the game?

It looks like the game is unable to load the options.txt file when it opens, can you please try to run the game as administrator?

You should find the game at: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\War For The Overworld

That parameter is just to tell the game to start in Italian based on your system language, please try again and select "OK"

2. try again and select "OK"

3. try again and select "OK"

4. try again and select "OK"

5. etc...help

Can you please try running "WFTO.exe" as admin instead? Does that help?

I already run "WFTO.exe" as administrator. help

Hey Alexandra,

We are trying to get to the bottom of this but do not yet have a solution for you. Please try to reinstall steam in the meantime and we will update you if we find a solution

I uninstalled Steam, losing more than 564Gb of material.

I reinstalled Steam and then the Game, the problem remains and I lost more than 564Gb of material.

And very very frustrating after translating it into ITA and spent about 200 hours of gameplay and streaming.

I'm sorry to hear that. As far as I know Steam doesn't typically remove Library and Community files when it is uninstalled, is it possible these files are still present on your PC but not yet linked into your Steam Libraries?

As mentioned previously we've currently not identified the cause of the issue but we know at least one other user is affected. However we don't yet know what connects the two incidents. We'd like to look into this a little further by seeing if there are any obvious connections in your hardware or software setups. Can you generate both a DXDiag report and a report of your Tasklist when your computer is running normally. I've included instructions on how to do this below.

How To: Generate a DXDiag Report.

How to: Generate a Tasklist Report

  1. Open command prompt by typing cmd into Windows search. Launch the Command Prompt application
  2. In the command prompt window type "tasklist > tasklist.txt"
  3. In your user folder (Typically C:\Users\*Your Name*, this is displayed at the left side of the Command Prompt application) locate tasklist.txt
  4. Upload in your report

Hey Alexandra,

In future, you do not need to delete your games library to uninstall steam, you can move the library to a new folder and readd the game to steam after, I'm sorry that Steam didn't make this clear.

This isn't really an issue with our game, this is an issue with the Steam client itself and a feature we have no control over.

You can try and set you UAC level to "Never Notify" and see if that helps, but there's nothing we can do. I would suggest you make a steam support ticket.

We nailed this one in 2.0.8 I believe.
