Game Starting on Second Monitor

I'm having an issue with the game opening on my secondary monitor rather than the primary.

Info:

  • Game Version: 2.0.6f2
  • OS: Ubuntu 18.10
  • Platform: i5-3750k, 16GB RAM, RX 580 (Mesa 19)

I've tried using the in-game monitor settings, however upon reopening the game 'Select Monitor' is always reset to 0. I've also switched to windowed mode while testing, same issue with Select Monitor resetting to 0.

The game is running great otherwise.

Here is the only relevant portion of the log I can see:

Using native desktop resolution 3840 x 1080
requesting fullscreen 3840 x 1080 at 0 Hz
Desktop is 3840 x 1080 @ 60 Hz
Using libudev for joystick management
Importing game controller configs
UnloadTime: 0.851000 ms
Changing real window size to 1920 x 1027
Changing real window size to 1920 x 1027
Changing real window size to 1920 x 1080
Changing real window size to 1920 x 1080

Hi Hlarsen,

Sorry to hear you're having problems with the monitor select tool. As a potential workaround an alternative approach on Windows is to set the game to windowed, drag it to the monitor you desire and then full screen it which will cause it to full screen on that monitor by default in the future. I'm not sure how this would behave on Ubuntu however.

Give that a try and let us know if you have any luck.

Cheers,

Lee

Unfortunately that doesn't work on Ubuntu.

It's not that big of a deal as doing as you suggested or alt-tabbing out and moving the window using the taskbar will get it onto the correct screen, just thought I'd report the bug as there have been similar 'starting on the wrong monitor' reports in the past under Linux and it's still reproducible.

Alright, thanks for letting us know! I'm sorry that this doesn't appear to be working for you, I'll pass it into our triage queue for when we do our next full pass in the opening months of next year.

Cheers,

Lee
