After starting the Game its loading the main menu, but it doesnt finish it. The Loading Monitor is freezing, the mouse stocks and in the background the music of the main menu starts (dungeon Core beating, Mendecheaus is greeting the underlord.....) There no way to go on, you can only quit the game. Restarting or completely reinstalling the game doesnt use anything.

I hope someone can help me, so i can go on playing the game.

Hi alwin.ahrens,

Sorry to hear you were unable to load into the game. Could you please provide the following for us:

- DXDiag output from your PC and full System Specs

- The Output Log file from your session

You can find details on these here: How to: Submit a Bug Ticket

Cheers,

Lee

Hi Lee,

thank you for working on my problem.
to add some system specs:

Graphic: Nvidia Geforce GTX 1070 Ti

Processor: Intel Core I5-8600k 3,60GHz installed on a M.2 SSD 970 EVO 250GB
Steam itself is installed on a second SSD SanDisk Ultra II 500GB

and here the txt you answered for:

DxDiag.txt
output_log.txt

I hope you can help me!

Best Regards

Alwin

Hey alwin,

You seem to be missing the official NVIDIA driver for your 1070Ti

Can you please download the driver found here and install it: https://www.nvidia.co.uk/download/driverResults.aspx/136721/en-uk

Let us know if this fixes the issue for you. Installing this driver will also improve your performance in other games.

i installed the stated Driver, but nothing changed.

Can you send a new log now that the driver is installed?

Can you also make sure that you leave the game to fully load, in some rare cases interacting with the game while it loads causes windows to kill it.

Just press play, leave the game load until it dies of its own accord and then send us that log.

This is necessary as killing the process will prevent it logging what the issue is that caused the crash/hang

Im sorry but after waiting nealy 45 minutes the game still stocks and doesnt close itself and i think it wont do that.

But here the dxdiag and the output_log:

output_log.txt
DxDiag.txt

Ah right I meant like 30 seconds - 2 minutes I should have been clearer sorry.

Can you make sure that there is nothing in your launch options? You can see this in the games properties

yes, there is nothing.

You should try DDU(Display Driver Uninstaller): https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html

Run that and then try to install the NVIDIA driver again. It looks like your card is still using the Windows in built driver

Your card is reporting 16GB of VRAM to the game so something in the driver is bust

i uninstalled the driver and installed the actual driver again, but nothing changed. Here is the dxdiag:

DxDiag.txt

Its also possible to play other games, which are newer than wfto and shouldnt be 16 GB Ram enough to play wfto?

Yes you beat the recommended specs. There is something wrong with the configuration on your machine preventing you from playing.

That DxDiag file has the line: "There is a problem with Microsoft Basic Display Adapter device. For more information, search for 'graphics device driver error code 22'"

This line is in every copy of the file you've sent and means that something is wrong with the Video Device(GPU). Can you open device manager and ensure that the device is enabled?

Can you also attempt the steps in this guide as it may help: Crash!

The Microsoft Basic Display Adapter was disabled, I enabled it, but ther is no Change in the Game.

Because you mentioned the GPU: I cant open the Nvidia Control Panel, because "I am not Using a Ad which is connected with the NVIDIA GPU"

Could this be the reason?

Can you please ensure that you monitor connects to a video card port on the GPU and not on the motherboard

Hey Guys, now its clear!
the monitor was connected on the motherboard and not on the GPU, what a stupid fault..... That was the Reason, now everything works!

Thanks a lot for your Patience and Help!

Haha sometimes it's the simple things, you should notice a great bump in FPS now that you are using your GPU!

Have fun and let us know if you have any further issues in WFTO. We'd also appreciate it if you took the time to review WFTO with your thoughts once you've had a good amount of time with the game
