Critical error on startup

I just purchased and installed War For The Overworld on GOG Galaxy (10-08-2017).

After the WFTO splash screen the startup screen appears with the " Patch 1.6 Creature Comforts" build.

The popup message box appears stating:

"Critical error

A critical error occurred during game start:

An exception was thrown by the type initializer for Galaxy.Api.GalaxyInstance.

The game cannot start.  Please report a bug using our Bug Tracker.  The game will quit." Game Version: GOG Galaxy Platform: Windows 10

64bits 16 Go ram.

Since this problem is similar to another user's a couple of months ago, I followed the advice posted there : downloading the two C++ 2013 redists, started by repairing, rebooting computer and trying again, no luck. Tried uninstalling the redists and reinstalling them, rebooting and launching the game once more, again no luck, same critical error on startup.

Game Version:
GOG Galaxy
Platform:
Windows

Hey Richard Hawkes,

Sorry to hear that you're crashing. Could I get you to verify that you have C++ redist 2010,2012,2013,2015.

Could I also get a look at your output_log? You should be able to find it here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\War For The Overworld\WFTOGame_Data\output_log.txt

output_log.txt

I'll attach the file from my gog galaxy folder, since I'm not launching it from or via Steam.

According to my control panel I have the following C++ redists : several 2005s, 2008s, and each of the 2010, 2012, 2013 and 2015 redists. (The latter ones I checked because I saw that exact request on the previously mentioned user's problem, but it doesn't hurt to double-check).

You seem to have a strange error in your log. It's in French but translates roughly to "This is not a valid 32bit program"

Are you sure that you have installed the 64bit version for the redist packages, the game, GOG Galaxy and Windows?

That looks like just a win32 error - those can come from corrupted files. I'll look into it.

...

Verifying and repairing the game files apparently did the trick, the game launched properly! Shame I won't be able to play until after the weekend.

Thank you for your time and patience! :)
