Saved games being deleted in My Pet Dungeon

I'm attempting to play the My Pet Dungeon expansion, and I'm having problems on the very first map. For some reason, at some point, my saved games of the map are deleted while I'm playing, and it doesn't seem to create a new save if I try to save afterwards. There are other problems that I suspect are related; as my dungeon gets increasingly complicated, my mouse gets increasingly laggy and hard to control. And while my creatures were fighting against level 3 heroes, the game spontaneously closed.

Hey Queenofdragons,

Could I get you to send your system specs as well as any logs you may have. This guide should help you: How to: Submit a Bug Ticket

Which specs, specifically? Also, I'm a little uncertain about sending logs because the last time I opened the game was to check if the saved game was there or not, and I didn't enter any maps. Plus, upon exiting, I encountered a different bug that I should probably go to a different topic about.

If you have restarted the game then the logs are lost, we need the logs from a play session where the loss of same games has been an issue.

What might still be there is a folder with its name being the time and date at which the game crashed, if that is there could you please send its contents.

Could you please send the full specs of the computer. CPU, GPU, Memory capacity.

This guide should show you how to find them, it's the same on Windows 8 and 10: https://www.cnet.com/uk/how-to/how-to-find-your-pcs-basic-specs-in-windows-8/

Yes please make a separate post for unrelated issues

I decided to make it easier on us and opened the game again and played until I encountered the "saved games are deleted" bug, then closed the game. Here's the output log (if I put it in right). output_log.txt

I should warn you, though, that the game crashed as I was leaving, so that might skew the data.

CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU

GPU: ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT (I think)

Memory Capacity (Installed RAM): 4.00 GB or 465 GB (not sure which one you're referring to)

Hey Queenofdragons,

I've got some bad news. For starters the crash seems to be caused by your system running out of memory while saving, this can be seen on line 1197 of the log you sent.

System.OutOfMemoryException: Out of memory
  at (wrapper managed-to-native) object:__icall_wrapper_mono_array_new_specific (intptr,int)
  at CLZF2.Compress (System.Byte[] inputBytes) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0
  at Serializer.Compress (System.IO.Stream stream) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0
  at Serializer.MapSave (.SaveMeta meta) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0

The only way to solve that is to upgrade the amount of memory in your system. (The 4GB amount) If you can avoid creating huge dungeons this shouldn't be an issue, but that will obviously not be as fun :/

I've just had a closer look at your GPU and it looks like it falls far below minimum spec. As you can see here http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/gpu.php?gpu=Radeon+HD+2600+XT&id=574 your GPU scores on average 290 points on the PassMark benchmark.

Unfortunately War For the Overworld requires a minimum score of 1500 on the PassMark benchmark to run the game, as stated in our System Requirements. There's nothing we can really do to fix it other than recommending that you attempt to run in the absolute lowest video settings. I hope that you can fix some way to enjoy the game, or an alternative machine to play on. You may be able to continue but busy dungeons will become an issue.

I'm again really sorry that we can't fix this for you, I hope you can still enjoy the game regardless.

The one bonus is that your log highlighted an issue in a piece of code that we have corrected, this likely won't change anything for you but I'm still thankful you sent the log in.

Thank you for your assistance regardless. Considering I got my current computer in 2009, I'm not that surprised. Maybe it'll run okay on my laptop...
