Hello Tux4ever,
did you try solutions provided here yet:
https://steamcommunity.com/app/230190/discussions/0/523890681426547342/
If this does not help, can you please upload your logs as described here:
https://forum.subterraneangames.com/threads/please-read-how-to-report-a-bug.4689/#post-5152
Without the logs we could only guess what is going wrong on your end.
Hope this helps.
Cheers
When I start the game I see the startup menu where I select graphics and resolution. When i start the game I get a black screen and mouse pointer. It freezes everything so I must restart computer.
I looked on the solutions but most of it is for windows.
I have also removed local content and reinstalled the game but it's the same.
I only have player.log in unity folder Player.log but I attached the log file.
Hello again,
logically everything happening in our own code seems fine but it looks like there is a system specific issue with our UI middleware.
The logs link an URL to an issue tracker for the chromium engine http://crbug.com/45650[Coherent, which points to a problem with the OSX version of chromium.
The UI middleware is based on an older chromium version which still suffers from this issue.
We will try to contact the vendor and see if they can help.
Cheers
These are the errors from the log for reference:
I got an answer from Coherent Labs quite quickly!
Because the problem is caused a thrid party plugin "Coherent UI" and not by things we could change ourself,
we need to use the support of Coherent Labs. (http://coherent-labs.com/)
But given that I emailed them just some hours ago they responded very quickly.
That's what they wrote:
"Hi Stefan,
My name is John and I'll be assisting you with your case.
This is a known issue in the Chromium core. From what I have seen it is awaiting a new triage, since it is not yet fixed.
The problem which it creates is that if the player runs out of memory, there won't be a regular crash with a meaningful message like "Out of memory", but it will most likely just crash half a second later.
Could you provide us with a list of the processes running when the game starts and their CPU usage?
Best regards,
John"
So:
Can you provide a list of processes running when the game starts and their CPU usage?
I hope this helps the guys at Coherent Labs to give us some advice on this issue.
Cheers
WFTO (Not responding) jumps between 0,9% to 7.0% of CPU. After awhile WFTO stops from being (Not responding) to just WFTO.
fsavd uses 98% of CPU but when i force quit WFTO everything is back to normal.
The rest of processes is normal.
UPDATE: I did some digging on fsavd... It's F-Secure SAFE that i testsed a trial period on.
I tested to uninstall F-Secure SAFE and the game is working!
Sorry for not testing this before but now I can finally play the game and have played a little bit now... The game is GREAT! :)
Hey Tux4ever,
this is awesome newd, I wish you great fun with the game.
But I am still interested in if fsavd is an issue in general with WFTO.
It seems like normally not but since the process is very busy it might interact weirdly with the (not yet fixed) issue of Chromium for OSX.
However I am very glad you can play now.
Enjoy! :)
Void yeah me too... If there is something more or something you want me to test on my side I am willing to help anyway I can.
