The lava special terrains marked E (Empire) and D (Dark) are identical, despite this not being the case for other, similarly marked tiles. The attached screenshot shows E and D next to each other; they literally look exactly the same.

We are going to cleanup the map editor in the 2.0 update, where duplicates like this will be removed. It just happens that they use the same lava for both Empire and Dark Empire and both were given a button.
