When Running War For The Overworld Google Chrome Frequently Crashes

Since reinstalling overworld to play my pet dungeon I've noticed that I can't fully use google chrome, for example clicking any button while war for the overworld is running doesn't work and causes google chrome to crash, sometimes it take 2 clicks and then it also crashes, I restart chrome, try the same it happens again. Sometimes I try to open a new tab and it crashes once again.

I then close war for the overworld and instantly google chrome is working perfectly normal again, can click that settings button as much as I want.

I have uninstalled google chrome and then installed it again but it had no effect as the crashes keep occuring while war for the overworld runs, this is highly frustrating as I frequently browse forums while waiting for gold to collect and frequently change music/songs

I have tried reinstalling chrome, reinstalling war for the overworld and turning off my anti-virus but none of it has helped.

OS: Windows 8.1 64bit

Ram: 16 GB

CPU: Intel Core i7-6700K 4.00 GHz overclocked to 4.40 GHz

GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 970

WFTO Build: V1.6f11

since it isn't the game that's crashing I assume it isn't necessary to include a crash log, I have tried to search for crash logs for google chrome but cannot seem to find them.

I just installed the game to check and the google chrome issue is gone, no idea if the freezing issue is gone as I don't want to play the game so don't want to sit there for a while to check.

We have now moved to CoherentGT, has this made a difference for you?

the only other issue is that once I'm playing on a map of my pet dungeon for long enough it freezes every so often for a second but that gets resolved after restarting so the only issue is google chrome.

I will jsut wait for that then and hope it solves the issue, thank you for your time.

Hey havikryan,

Does the game work as intended? It is only Google Chrome crashing right?

We cannot do anything to fix this right now as it is caused by our 3rd party middleware. In the coming months we are transitioning to Coherent GT, the new version of the UI system, if the issue persists when the game is using Coherent GT then we will be able to take steps to have this issue fixed.
