campaign: 7; unplayable due to graphics crash on UnityGfxDeviceWorker with intel iris 550 series

Hi,

the game crashes on campaign start LvL7: Heart attack; with intel iris 550 graphics series (log below). I don't think it has anything to do with the integrated graphics since it runs well with intel HD 515. (same campaign level: 7 heart attack)

Thanks for the report. We're currently on XMas leave right now but we'll be sure to investigate further in the new year! :)


Sorry to hear about the crash though, Unity can be a bit flakey with Intel chips which is why we don't officially support them. I'll be sure to get this passed straight to code and they'll be able to respond next year with any thoughts.


My only input would be on a comparison of G3D Mark the Intel Iris 550 is just within Minimum spec for the game.


It'd be great if you could locate your player.log and get that uploaded direct to us here as well as your full specs for your Mac. :) Plus some extra insight on what was happening at the time of the crash would be great as well.

For the performance: The IntelHD 515 runs well on minimum settings were as the 550 runs the game even on medium settings without framedrops (but the game breaks on campaign 7). Everything works fine, expect the campaign. I got some more details on that as you requested:

The crash happens when campaign 7 is fully loaded and starts (transition from loading screen to game). You can hear the sound of gold dropping as a level starts, still in loading screen at 100%. Then the crash happens immediately.

Hi, I have the same problem. Can you please help?


Level 7, after the loading screen loads to 100% the screen freezes, but you can hear the gold dropping. Afterwards the game crashes.

Officially we do not support Intel integrated graphics as Unity has severe issues when running on these cards. The error message is directly related to a Unity crash that can only be fixed by an update by Unity. Our upcoming patch has a few Unity related improvements which may improve the situation for you. But unfortunately the most I can do is invite you to try again once the patch is released.

Alternatively please try to play the game on a computer with a dedicated Nvidea or AMD graphics card that at least meets our recommended System Requirements as they tend to be much more stable in general.

I'm really sorry that I cant help further.
