'Difficult' to click / select in-game world tiles

Hi,

I am trying to play the game across a Windows Laptop (Work), and at home Mac Mini, Apple Silicon.

At work things work okay, but the laptop is underpowered, graphically.

The Mac works potentially splendidly, with my ultra-wild monitor...except that I cannot click/interact consistently with the tiles / objects in the world. Occasionally I can click / select / drag to select a tile to tiles for example, to be cleared, but most of the time I cannot - so it make selecting tiles for an action, picking up creatures, or casting spells etc a 'fail' 95% of the time.

The UI works fine.

HELP!

Hi Damian,

Apologies for the delay in our response. WFTO has been in deep maintenance mode for some time and we don't get much chance to look in anymore so tickets will receive responses as and when we are able to spend the time on it.

I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulties with the game not allowing you to click on items in your dungeon. Unfortunately as I'm reviewing the tickets that have come in since our last triage I'm seeing a lot of similar reports for Mac OS users.

This is sadly likely due to Mac OS moving far beyond the version that the game's engine was designed for, Mac OS 10.10 way, way back in 2015. It's likely that in the process of the updates to the OS that something about how it interracts with the game engine has gone awry.

I will be discussing the problems facing Mac OS users with the rest of the team next week.

Sadly, the branch of the Unity Engine that we're using is similarly long out of its maintenance cycle and we're already on the very latest version that the game can easily be transitioned to. It is possible that we might not be able to do anything and simply stipulate that the game only works on much older versions of Mac OS. I will try to keep all our Mac users informed of any developments as I find out more.

For now I can recommend that the Windows version remains very stable and Linux is close to parity with that with some minor issues. If possible I might suggest that you consider dual-booting Windows or an older version of Mac OS on your system.

Thanks, and apologies that I couldn't provide a better solution right now.
