Hi!

So  I finished the original campaign (wich was great btw!) and just started the Heart of Gold expac. During the first mission the longer I play, the laggier it becomes, framerate drops into singledigit, and in the end the game just freezes (permanent) and I have to exit the game through the task manager.


The game is now running on a brand new HD

the rest of the setup is the same: i5 4570, 8 Gb RAM, MSI 970 4 Gb

Great to hear!


I'm not going to close this as it's worth us looking into the saves / log you provided in case we can prevent such occurrences in the future. So i'll be moving this thread across to our bug tracker for our QA Analyst to review next week. :)

hi,


I restarted the mission, and the problem seems to be solved! The constant lightening is also gone, so that could be related to the glitch. But its easily resolved by restarting the misson, so you can close this ticket if you want. sorry for flagging this so early, will restart the mission the future if I get this again.

Hi!


for the save I supplied the framerate drop is already noticable (lag), I already noticed it before I saved the game.


this save is from a couple of minutes earlier in the game, and then there is no lag. The lighting thing is then already started, and I just took over the room. When you play this save, after 10/15 mins or so the lag becomes noticable.

here is an save before the above one, where is no lightening, I just started the level. framerate is good, and no ligthening.

Very interesting indeed. The lightning is an effect from Mandalf's death sequence if it is continuously firing that suggests a script is behaving incorrectly. This level has a very complicated script running through it and it can prove volatile in some cases so something must have thrown it off. Definitely interested in looking into that and hopefully the log/save you've provided will help our QA & Code teams identify improvements.


Out of curiosity did you make this save after the game started lagging or did the game only start lagging the first time you loaded this save? I.e. you saved the game to take a break then came back to it rather than completing the level in a single sitting.


Was the lightning effect occurring before the save or did you notice it only after?

Hi!


The issue occurs everytime I load the save (wich is supplied), wich is laggy play and after 5/10 minutes or so the game permanent freezes.


the only weird thing is that during this play the enemy AI keeps firing lighting in a room he lost to me (if you load the save you will see it), I believe the lag started when that happened.


oh I also play the game at 50% speed.


I will try to restart the level, see if I can reproduce it.

Sorry to hear this. I'll ask our QA Analyst to have a look into your log and see if we can't identify a potential cause. 


Does this issue occur every time you play the level or has this been a single playthrough so far? I wouldn't have expected there'd be a permanent issue on the level or we would be seeing other reports but perhaps an unusual issue occurred which lead to this increasing loss in performance.
