1. open map editor

2. place 3x3 overflowing water or lava tiles surrounded by dirt or chasm

3. you will notice holes in the ground

Great I'll close this then. Hopefully in future games if we have anything similar we could make that a little more intuitive :)

You are right. They look fine when used to make water/lava fall.

Can you provide a screenshot? I'm pretty sure that this is working as intended if the issue is with the chasm edge overflow tiles, these tiles are specifically meant to be used in conjunction with a water/lava fall and as such have some placement requirements to make them look correct. It's not ideal but is a result of limitations in the tiling system of the game.


Overflow tiles are missing an edge which would normally be present and this allows the lava/water fall to display without clipping through that edge the VFX of the falling water/lava hides the missing edge but if you place one of these tiles without a fall then the illusion is broken.
