UI lag then crash with high cpu usage

Hi,

At first game seems to work perfectly fine, but after couple of minutes UI gets laggy and then freeze entirely while games still works like nothing happened. I tried all solutions from "Missing, Invisible or Laggy UI" and none gave any results.

I noticed that CPU usage from the start of the game varies around 80% - which seems a little too much in my opinion but i don't know what else I can do.

Also i tried running the game with lowest settings (without any post-processing, etc.) and problem is not occurring, however my laptop should be able to handle at least high settings and I'd hate to ruin this beautiful game by playing like this :(

EDIT: I've also tried reinstalling game - with no effects.

My specs:

i5-6300HQ @ 2.30GHz

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M (with latest drivers)

8GB RAM

New updates resolved any issues. Now I'm able to play on highest settings on same gear.

That difference in performance definitely explains that difference. Unfortunately there's nothing we can do.

I tried the game on my brother's laptop and it's working perfectly fine on the same GPU and moderately better CPU (though mine is newer) on highest settings. So it seems that your required specs are not so accurate.

On his laptop total CPU usage varies around 20-30% (while on mine 80-90%). It looks that difference is far to great so I'm still willing to struggle with this. :D

Yes it is, the UI is a separate process. Because the game is taking so much processing power there's nothing left for the UI to use to render, causing it to crash. It's due to use using a less than stellar UI framework that we are now stuck with. We are investigating improving it but we have no ETA on when that will be done

It's just weird how game works completely fine on highest setting with all post-processing, but UI crashes.

(EDIT) And at the same time UI is not crashing only on lowest possible settings.

Is it really normal behaviour? I'm no expert but this looks like it's not GPU problem...

Hey Mateo,

Unfortunately you are only slightly above the minimum spec for WFTO. We require a card that benchmarks at 1500 points. Your card can play the game as it hits 2000 points (https://www.videocardbenchmark.net/gpu.php?gpu=GeForce+GTX+960M&id=3176) but not on high settings due to the lack of avalible performance overhead.
