Ah sorry, I originally posted a message that explained why but it seems to be missing.
We cannot fix it as this scenario is counter to how units expect to behave and can only really be achieved with God Mode. The system that prevents units walking through each other is not built to cope with this "trap" and there is no easy way to make it work. I hope this doesn't cause too many issues for you, sorry.
