Windows 10 64 bit, 8 Gm RAM, Intel(R) Core(TM) I7-4500 CPU1.80 GHz 2.40GHz GPU: AMD Radeon R7 M265, Intel(R) HD Graphics Family. Version game 1.5.1f5

I can't edit any of my previously published map.

See the screenshots. Gone are all locally stored maps (except Tetris - map, that I saved after the bug). In the screenshot №3 - the beginning of the list of my previously published in steam cards. A lot of them, I could edit them before. Now can't. I can only delete my map.

I could be wrong, but I think the issue here is that by default the game looks on the steam cloud for save games, rather than local ones. So you can try disabling the steam cloud for WFTO (temporarily) and see if the game starts to check local files instead and finds them.

Otherwise, the fact that that the steam cloud was deleted (due to resetting progress) might mean that when you're loading the game and it's syncing with the cloud, steam itself is telling the game that those save files shouldn't be there (and so is deleting or invalidating them some how)

I'd try temporarily disabling the cloud saves via the game properties window on steam.

What happened is Steam asked me about my conflicting files so I chose to upload them to the cloud.  Now they appear!  😀

It worked!  Thank you.

  • Open Steam and go to the Library Tab.
  • Right Click "War For the Overworld" and click Properties on the popup window.
  • Open the "Updates" tab and you should see the Steam Cloud section at the bottom.

Hopefully that should help you find it.

I don't know how to do that.

I have a similar issue.  Call it Local Save File Recovery Backup

Windows 7 Ultimate, 64-bit, 8.00 GB, AMD FX(tm)-8320 Eight-Core Processor 3.50 GHz

Two graphics cards: GeForce GTX 650 Ti + GeForce GTX 750 Ti

War for the Overworld version 1.6.5f1

I wanted to Reset Campaign Progress for the Stay a While and Listen achievement, but before I clicked the button I decided to temporarily relocate my savefile folder until I reached my current point in the campaign again.  I didn't want those save files deleted despite the game telling me that they would be.  I'm stubborn like that.  I scrapped my Home Realm save data so it wouldn't conflict in any way despite already having spent 5 hours in it.  lol

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\RAND_NUM\230190\remote

I cut the entire folder from there to my Documents library.  Replaying the game to said mission, I moved the folder back and merged it with the current remote folder although the only conflicting file was WFTO_Tutorial

None of my save files can be loaded in-game.  Not a one.  Not even those from other game modes.  Yes, there was manual interference.  No, I do not have any of my _edit save file extensions in this folder.  I didn't see any.  Either way since this is a similar issue I'm posting in this thread instead of making my own so here you go - other essential files as listed previously.  Plus a zipped folder of the save files I cannot load in case you want them:
